The Supreme Court of India upheld the Delhi High Court judgment ordering the Central Government to reinstate Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for Central Government employees, along with SCI’s directive that they file an application within four weeks to explain why OPS should not be restored; further hearing in February 2024; Central Gov has stated its intentions of adhering to Supreme Court orders by filing applications within stipulated timeline; All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) has indicated its optimism that OPS would be restored across government employees by filing application at SCI;
Latest Judgment on Old Pension Scheme 2024 In their most recent ruling on Old Pension Scheme 2024, High Court judges accepted a petition by one of its petitioners for its reinstatement within one month, due to its significance for Government employees. They then instructed the Delhi state government to reinstate traditional benefits under the old pension scheme within that same timeframe.
